Founded in 2018, Molo Mhlaba is dedicated to uplifting marginalised groups through social justice education initiatives aimed at supporting community development and promoting social well-being. We are a social justice organisation dedicated to:
Providing safe, affordable, quality Montessori-inspired, low-fee, single-sex schools in underserved communities.
Linking young children to STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, the Arts, and Mathematics) through innovative education and real-world experiential learning opportunities.
Supporting survivors of violence with holistic psychosocial support and access to justice.
Democratising Montessori education by connecting young people who lack opportunities to sustainable economic pathways.
Elevating African success stories that integrate Indigenous Knowledge Systems with mainstream STEAM education and innovation.

Molo Mhlaba operates a growing network of single-sex, Montessori-inspired STEAM schools for girls in underserved communities in the Western Cape. Our schools serve children in Early Childhood Development (3–6 years), Lower Elementary (6–9 years), and Upper Elementary (9–12 years).
Our Institute
Our Institute
Molo Mhlaba Institute (MMI) was established in response to the underrepresentation of African Montessorians willing to work in impoverished communities, which deprives children from disadvantaged backgrounds of the benefits of alternative forms of early learning education.
Our Pase
Our Pase
Pan-African Systems of Education (PASE) is building Pan-African approaches to Montessori and STEAM education. Schools, teachers, scholars, parents, and interested individuals will have the opportunity to join a movement inspired by African Indigenous Knowledge Systems, which are rapidly becoming endangered.
